Ever wondered what makes someone an entrepreneur? We turned to our vibrant LaunchX student community to get their take on the key characteristics that make an entrepreneur, and the answers are as dynamic and inspiring as our young entrepreneurs themselves.

Wonjin Eum (17, South Korea)

"Entrepreneurs need to be passionate about what they're doing, have love in the work you do to deliver it to the world. Determination is also a key point because coming up with a business idea can be so hard and take so much time and effort. Sticking through and persevering, trusting the process, it's an important quality."

Tanish Arora (16, India)

"LaunchX has been pivotal in making me realize that the problems are there. You just need to observe them. A key part of entrepreneurship is observation. Even the smallest things can make an impact and serve a big problem."

“I have always gone from ‘I have this solution, does this have a problem?’ But `within 4 days, LaunchX has instilled in me the idea of ‘this is the problem, do you have a solution?’”

Nil Yildiz (16, Istanbul, Turkey)

"They need to be imaginative, they need to be hardworking. After imagination and hard work, what's left is friendship and network."

Selim (17, Turkmenistan)

"Entrepreneurs are always thinking outside of the box. They are always thinking differently from other people. Where a person sees a problem, an entrepreneur sees an opportunity. They look for opportunities, and they want to fix them. That's what sets them apart."

William Luo (16, Hong Kong)

"I picture an entrepreneur as an athlete. You need to have three pillars: being persistent, being dedicated, and being compassionate. I think that these three traits are the most important ones in entrepreneurship.

You don't have to be an intellectual, but you have to have the heart, the enthusiasm, and the passion. You need to really love entrepreneurship to be successful in it. Then you need to be dedicated to doing something to the best of your ability. It can then make your impact to an extent that you don't even expect. These are the pillars that I follow whether I am in sports or in entrepreneurship."

Vivaan Daga (17, India)

“I think an entrepreneur should be risk-taking and confident. The confidence that an entrepreneur can have in his own idea is a great way to persuade other people to invest or believe in their idea.

Furthermore, an entrepreneur should be willing to deliver the end product no matter what challenges they face – resilience is an important part of becoming a successful entrepreneur no matter how many setbacks you face.

Finally, I believe a vision is the biggest differentiator between an average entrepreneur and an excellent entrepreneur. By seeing things that nobody else can see, they can grow their business into something huge.”

Our LaunchX community proves that being an entrepreneur is about more than just starting a business—it's about embracing challenges, thinking outside the box, and staying passionate about making a difference. The future of entrepreneurship is bright, driven by these energetic, imaginative, and determined individuals ready to change the world!
