Terms of Use

Effective date: October 14, 2026

These terms replace the version dated March 1, 2022.

1. About these terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and LaunchX LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("LaunchX," "we," "us"). They apply to launchx.com, our application and student portal (currently mymissioncontrol.app), awardx.com, and any other LaunchX website or app that links to these Terms (together, the "Sites"), and to our programs and services (the "Services"). The EshipX Marketplace (eshipx.com) has its own terms, which apply there instead.

By using the Sites or Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use them.

Enrolled students and their parents or guardians also sign an enrollment agreement (our Onboarding Agreement). If that agreement and these Terms conflict, the enrollment agreement applies, except that sections 7 (fees, payments and refunds), 14 (resolving disagreements) and 15 (changes to these Terms) of these Terms always apply.

2. Students under 18

If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms for you before you apply, enroll or make any purchase.

A parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms:

  • agrees to them on their own behalf and on behalf of the student;
  • is responsible for all fees and payments for the student; and
  • is responsible for the student's use of the Sites and Services.

In these Terms, "you" means the student and, for a student under 18, also the parent or guardian.

Our Sites and Services are not meant for children under 13.

3. Accounts

Some Sites require an account. Please give accurate information and keep it up to date. Keep your login details private and do not share your account. If you think someone has used your account without permission, tell us right away at help@launchx.com.

We may suspend or close an account that gives false information or breaks these Terms.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Sites or Services to:

  • harass, bully, threaten or harm anyone;
  • post or share anything illegal, obscene, hateful or defamatory;
  • infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy;
  • spread viruses or other harmful code, or try to break into our systems or other users' accounts;
  • copy, scrape or collect information about other users;
  • send spam or unsolicited mass messages;
  • commit fraud, including submitting application materials that are not your own work; or
  • resell our programs or materials without our written permission.

Students in our programs must also follow the code of conduct in the enrollment agreement.

5. Our content

The Sites, our curriculum, program materials, videos, logos and brand names belong to LaunchX or our licensors. We give you a personal, limited permission to use them for taking part in our programs. You may not copy, sell or publish them, or use our names and logos, without our written permission.

6. Your content and the startups you build

You own your work. Students own the ideas, startups, products and other work they create during a LaunchX program. LaunchX does not take any ownership stake in, or claim any rights to, a student's startup.

Working in a team. Many students build a startup with teammates. LaunchX does not decide who owns what within a team. If a team keeps working on its startup after the program, the team members are responsible for agreeing among themselves how ownership is shared. We encourage teams to put that agreement in writing, with a parent or guardian involved for team members under 18.

What you let us do. When you upload or submit content to our Sites, such as applications, assignments or pitch materials, you give LaunchX permission to store, copy and display it as needed to review applications and run our programs.

Photos and video. Our enrollment agreement asks students and parents or guardians for permission to use the student's name, photos and video in our marketing. You can ask us to stop using a particular image at any time by emailing help@launchx.com, and we will remove it from materials we control going forward.

7. Fees, payments and refunds

Fees. Our fees are listed on our Sites and in each admission offer. They may include:

  • an application fee, paid when you submit an application;
  • a program deposit, paid by admitted students to reserve a place, equal to half of the program fee; and
  • the remaining half of the program fee.

The exact amounts and payment deadlines are shown in each admission offer and in the student portal. All amounts are in US dollars. We may change our prices, but a price change will not apply to an amount you have already been charged or to an admission offer you have already accepted.

Payment. We accept credit and debit cards and bank (ACH) transfers, processed by Stripe. We do not accept checks. You authorize us to charge your chosen payment method for the amounts you agree to pay. You are responsible for any currency conversion or international fees your bank charges.

Refunds.

  • Application fees are non-refundable.
  • Program deposits are non-refundable.
  • The remaining program fee is fully refundable if you cancel your enrollment in writing at least one month before the program's start date.
  • Less than one month before the start date, the remaining program fee is non-refundable, whatever the reason for cancelling.
  • Once a program has started, no fees are refunded if a student withdraws, leaves early, or is dismissed under the code of conduct.
  • If LaunchX cancels a program, we will refund all amounts you paid for that program, including the application fee and deposit, or, if you prefer, transfer your place to another session or program.

To cancel, email help@launchx.com. Your cancellation date is the date we receive your email.

Programs can change. We may change program dates, locations, schedules, staff, speakers and other details. If we change the dates or location of a program you have paid for and you can no longer attend, we will refund what you paid for it.

8. Our chat assistant and other information

Our Sites and WhatsApp channel include an AI chat assistant, HelpX. It can make mistakes. If an answer from the chat assistant, or from any other source, differs from these Terms, our published costs and deadlines, or an admission offer, these Terms, our published costs and deadlines, and the offer are what apply.

We work to keep the information on our Sites accurate, but it may sometimes contain errors. Information on the Sites is not legal, financial or medical advice.

9. Third-party links and services

The Sites link to, and use, services run by other companies, such as payment processing, video meetings and community platforms. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them, and we are not responsible for them.

10. Ending these Terms

You can stop using the Sites and close your account at any time by emailing help@launchx.com.

We may suspend or end your access to the Sites or Services if you break these Terms or the code of conduct, or if we need to for legal or safety reasons. Section 7 sets out what happens to fees in that case. Sections that by their nature should continue after these Terms end will continue.

11. Disclaimers

We provide the Sites "as is" and "as available." To the extent the law allows, we do not promise that the Sites will always be available, error-free or secure, and we disclaim implied warranties such as fitness for a particular purpose. Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived.

12. Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, LaunchX is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits or lost data, arising from your use of the Sites or Services. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Sites or Services is limited to the amount you paid LaunchX in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 if that is greater.

These limits do not apply to losses caused by our gross negligence, fraud or willful misconduct, or to anything else the law does not allow us to limit.

13. Your responsibility to us

If you misuse the Sites or Services or break these Terms, and someone brings a legal claim against LaunchX as a result, you agree to cover LaunchX's reasonable costs of that claim, including reasonable legal fees, to the extent the claim was caused by your actions.

14. Resolving disagreements

Talk to us first. If you have a concern, please email help@launchx.com. We will try to resolve it informally within 30 days.

Arbitration. If we cannot resolve it, you and LaunchX agree that any dispute about these Terms, the Sites or the Services will be decided by binding individual arbitration instead of in court. Arbitration means a neutral arbitrator decides the dispute instead of a judge or jury.

  • The arbitration will be run by the American Arbitration Association (AAA) under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, available at adr.org.
  • LaunchX will pay the arbitration filing and arbitrator fees, except any filing fee the AAA rules require you to pay, which is capped at the amount you would pay to file in court.
  • The arbitration can take place by video or phone, based on written submissions, or, if you live in the United States, in person in the county where you live.
  • The arbitrator can award the same relief a court could award to an individual.

Exceptions. Either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court instead. Either of us may also go to court to stop misuse of intellectual property.

No class actions. Disputes will be resolved only on an individual basis, not as part of a class or group action.

Your right to opt out. You can opt out of arbitration by emailing help@launchx.com within 30 days of first agreeing to these Terms, with your name and the words "arbitration opt-out." Opting out does not affect any other part of these Terms.

Governing law and courts. Delaware law governs these Terms. Any dispute that is not arbitrated will be decided in the state or federal courts located in Kent County, Delaware, unless the law of the place where you live gives you the right to bring it there.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version here and change the effective date. If we make a material change, we will email registered users and the families of current applicants and students at least 14 days before it takes effect. Changes will not apply to a dispute that arose before the change, or to fees you have already paid.

16. General

  • These Terms, our Privacy Policy and any enrollment agreement you sign are the entire agreement between you and LaunchX about the Sites and Services.
  • If any part of these Terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
  • If we do not enforce a part of these Terms, we can still enforce it later.
  • You may not transfer your rights under these Terms to anyone else.

  • We may communicate with you electronically, by email, text (with your consent) or through your portal account.
