Financial Awards: Making LaunchX Accessible

Financial awards are available to qualified students across LaunchX's programs, including international students, a commitment LaunchX makes as one of the only business summer programs to offer financial awards to all eligible candidates regardless of where they're applying from. LaunchX's goal is to make sure cost isn't what keeps a student from starting a real company, whether that's an 8-week online internship or a 4-week flagship launch in San Diego. Awards apply toward tuition, and LaunchX separately offers an application fee waiver for families for whom even the application fee itself would be a hardship. Because Financial Award deadlines vary by program and admissions cycle, confirm the current deadline for your specific program before you apply.

Where to Start If Cost Is a Factor

If cost is the deciding factor, Online BootCamp is LaunchX's most accessible entry point at $1,995, a 2- to 3-week, roughly 2-hour-a-day introduction to startup foundations that still holds to LaunchX's full rigorous yet practical standard. If you've already been through a LaunchX program before, Online Startup Experience offers a $3,495 alumni rate for returning Launchies who want real startup work experience on their resume. Either way, you're building alongside the same worldwide community of over 3,000 Launchies, at a lower price point than LaunchX's flagship programs.

How to Apply for a Financial Award

Financial Award consideration is a separate step from your program application. Mark your interest in a Financial Award (and, if needed, an application fee waiver) in the General section of your LaunchX application, then complete a follow-up Financial Award Application with accurate household income information so LaunchX can determine the right amount of aid. Frequently Asked Questions

Will paying more for a LaunchX program actually help more with college admissions?

No summer program, at any price, can promise admission to a specific school, and LaunchX doesn't either. What changes across price points is depth and format, not what a program can promise for your application. Every LaunchX program, from the $1,995 Online BootCamp to the $11,495 Flagship, gives you something concrete to write about: a real team, a real product, and in the Flagship programs, real revenue and a Demo Day pitch.

What's the lowest-cost way to try LaunchX before committing to a longer program?

Online BootCamp, starting from $1,995 for 2 to 3 weeks. It's built as the entry point specifically so students can test whether LaunchX's approach fits before applying to a longer, pricier program like Online Flagship Entrepreneurship or San Diego Entrepreneurship.

Why do LaunchX's in-person programs cost more than the online ones?

Length and format.
San Diego Exploration (2 weeks, from $6,495) and San Diego Entrepreneurship (Flagship) (4 weeks, from $11,495) include housing and full-time programming on the UC San Diego campus, plus a $250 international-student fee for the Flagship. Online Flagship Entrepreneurship runs the identical curriculum and revenue requirement for $6,495, less than half the in-person Flagship price, for students who don't need the on-campus experience.

Is there a lower-cost online option if I want real business skills without paying for the full Flagship program?

Yes.
Online Innovation, starting from $4,495 for 3 weeks, has you solving a real business problem for an existing company under industry mentors, without the cost or length of the 5-week Flagship. If budget is the main constraint, Online BootCamp at $1,995 covers startup foundations at LaunchX's lowest price point. For a full side-by-side comparison, see LaunchX's online programs overview.

How do I know if I qualify for a Financial Award?

Financial awards are available to qualified students across every LaunchX program. Eligibility isn't published here, since LaunchX confirms it case by case, so the way to find out is to apply to your chosen program and indicate your interest in a Financial Award as part of that application, ahead of the February 11 deadline.

Are there any costs beyond the listed program price?

The one confirmed additional fee is the $250 international-student fee on San Diego Entrepreneurship (Flagship). Beyond that, treat the listed starting prices as a floor and confirm final cost, including any program-specific extras, directly on
launchx.com before applying.

Is there help available if I can't afford the application fee itself?

Yes. Separate from the tuition Financial Award, LaunchX lets families request a waiver of the application fee if paying it would cause financial hardship. You can request the waiver directly within the application, before you get to the Financial Award step.
