Prestige isn’t a title you earn once and keep forever. It’s something you prove again and again, by evolving, delivering real value, and helping alumni continue to make meaningful progress long after a program ends.
From MIT to a Full Entrepreneurial Ecosystem
LaunchX began with a bold promise: to bring real entrepreneurship education to high school students. With roots tied to MIT( Massachusetts Institute of Technology), the program entered a landscape where most youth programs focused on theory or surface-level exposure.
Over time, LaunchX has evolved that promise into a progressive, interconnected pathway that supports students from first ideas to viable ventures and beyond. Today, students can begin with our short online BootCamp, deepen their skills through the hands-on Exploration Program, and move into our Flagship Program, while engaging with a broader ecosystem through initiatives like AwardX, a global entrepreneurship competition for Launchies, and beyondX, a global youth entrepreneurship conference.
While LaunchX began at MIT, it did not remain confined to a single institution or academic lens. Over the years, its in-person LocationX programs have taken place across campuses, including Penn State, Northwestern, UC Berkeley, the University of Michigan, and Boston University. Each institution adds new perspectives, partners, and approaches to innovation. Stepping beyond a single university has allowed LaunchX to remain independent, drawing insights from multiple ecosystems rather than inheriting one fixed school of thought. This broader foundation has strengthened the program, enabling it to refine its curriculum continuously and offer students a more versatile, real-world entrepreneurial education.

Selective, Yet Accessible
LaunchX’s Flagship Program remains highly competitive, with an acceptance rate of around 30%. In 2025 alone, over 15,000 applications were started, with roughly 700 students ultimately joining the program. While the program is selective, LaunchX has introduced new pathways to help motivated students “catch up” and qualify, ensuring that a wider range of aspiring entrepreneurs can access this immersive experience. This approach keeps the program both prestigious and inclusive, giving students multiple ways to enter the LaunchX ecosystem.
Action-Focused, Not Just Academic
Students don’t just learn entrepreneurship as a concept. LaunchX emphasizes practice through customer discovery, iteration, rapid prototyping, and traction. These are the skills that matter in real startup environments.
A Real Ecosystem
Beyond individual programs, LaunchX fosters a lasting community. Through alumni networks, events, and recognition platforms, its impact extends far beyond a single summer or course. Launchies are encouraged to stay connected with one another and with mentors long after programs end, supported by a steady stream of content that highlights alumni and where they are in their entrepreneurial journeys.
With multiple AwardX competitions hosted across the globe, spanning regions such as East Africa and themes like social impact, and the BeyondX conference held at partner universities throughout Europe, LaunchX has built a truly international ecosystem, connecting young entrepreneurs across borders, cultures, and stages of growth.
Global and Accessible
LaunchX offers both online and in-person programs. Students can choose the format that fits their location and schedule while still engaging in a focused, hands-on entrepreneurial experience. Online programs are designed with the same level of structure, accountability, and collaboration as in-person ones, while onsite programs offer deeper immersion and face-to-face teamwork. This dual approach allows LaunchX to reach students around the world without compromising on rigor or expectations.

Lasting Student Ventures
Many former participants continue building ventures developed during LaunchX, apply the processes learned to new projects, or pursue entrepreneurship with a grounded understanding of risk, validation, and resilience. This continuation is one of the most meaningful markers of real-world impact and a cornerstone of prestige.

There are many excellent programs designed for ambitious students, and each has its own strengths:
Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS)
Tsinghua x-EDU / Stanford Pre-College Programs
Columbia LaunchX (or other university affiliates)
Youth Startup Bootcamps & Hackathons (various)

Prestige Rooted in Outcomes
LaunchX Alums are seen to continue building ventures started during programs, feature in ecosystem showcases like AwardX, form a global community through BeyondX events, and apply skills in internships, startups, and academic pursuits.
Prestige in education today isn’t about label recognition alone, but about outcomes, continuity, and community. This is the result of a program that centers practice, iteration, and connection over static learning.
