Summer Entrepreneurship Courses That Build a Real Company, Not a Case Study
You bring the passion. We bring the launchpad. At LaunchX, you don't sit through lectures about entrepreneurship. You form a team, build a real product, sell it to real customers, and pitch what you built on Demo Day. Your goal this summer is to start a real company, and every course in our curriculum is built to get you there.
Why Summer Is the Right Time to Start a Real Company
Every high schooler interested in entrepreneurship eventually asks the same question: which program actually teaches me to build something, instead of just talking about it? LaunchX has been answering that question since our first summer course in 2013. We got our start within the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship from 2014 to 2016, and we've grown independent since, but the standard hasn't changed. Today we're a worldwide community of over 3,000 Launchies, and every course is still rigorous yet practical. It means the work is real and it is demanding. You'll leave thinking like a founder, because you spent your summer acting like one.
What You'll Build: Teaming, Testing, and Selling
Every LaunchX entrepreneurship course runs on the same three mechanics, whether you're online or on campus.
Teaming means you join a small group of fellow Launchies and figure out how to build together, fast.
Testing means market research and building your Minimum Viable Product. You'll validate whether your idea actually solves a problem before you spend another hour building it.
Selling means taking your MVP to market and generating real revenue. Our flagship courses require at least $250 in real sales by one week before Demo Day. Not a projection. Not a pitch deck number. Real money from real customers.
By the time you pitch on Demo Day, you won't be presenting an idea. You'll be presenting a company you actually started.
Built for Founders Who Want to Work With AI
If you're heading into a LaunchX course because you want to build with AI, you're in the right place. Our curriculum doesn't hand you a fixed idea to execute. It hands you the process: Teaming, Testing, Selling. What you build inside that process is up to you, and for a growing number of Launchies, that means AI-powered products and tools. You'll use the same validation and go-to-market rigor whether your MVP is an app, a service, or an AI-driven product, because the entrepreneurial mindset we teach doesn't change with the technology.
Choose Your Course: Online and In-Person Options
LaunchX offers a few different entry points depending on how much time you have and how deep you want to go.
Online BootCamp is a 3-week course, about 2 hours a day, starting from $1,995. It's the beginner-friendly way to learn startup foundations and shape your first idea on a flexible schedule.
Online Flagship Entrepreneurship is a 5-week course starting from $6,495. This is the full build: you'll start a real business, generate real revenue, and complete the entire launch from home.
San Diego Entrepreneurship (Flagship) is our 4-week in-person course starting from $11,495. You'll live on a university campus with your team and launch your startup in person, alongside other Launchies from around the world.
Not sure which fits? If you're brand new to entrepreneurship, start with Online BootCamp. If you're ready to launch a real company this summer, choose Online Flagship Entrepreneurship or San Diego Entrepreneurship depending on whether you want to build from home or on campus.
Real Companies, Real Revenue
Roughly 30% of applicants are accepted into our Flagship courses, and every accepted student who completes the program is expected to hit the same bar: a real company, launched, with real revenue. Some Launchies keep building well past the summer. Aadit Palicha, a 2019 Launchie, went on to co-found Zepto, valued at $5 billion as of September 2024. Panashe Madzudzo, who graduated our program in 2017, founded Avalon, a healthcare AI company that joined the Google for Startups Accelerator: AI First in October 2023. These outcomes are inspiration, not a guarantee. What stays constant at LaunchX is the process: a real team, a real MVP, a real customer, and a real pitch.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need any business experience to join a LaunchX entrepreneurship course?
No. Online BootCamp is built specifically as an entry point for high schoolers who've never built a startup before. Over 3 weeks, about 2 hours a day, you'll learn startup foundations and shape your first idea alongside a worldwide community of Launchies. It's the same rigorous yet practical approach used across every LaunchX course, just paced for beginners. More than 3,000 Launchies have gone through LaunchX programs since 2013, building the foundation for everything that comes next.
What makes LaunchX different from other summer entrepreneurship programs?
Most summer programs grade a business plan. LaunchX requires every Flagship student to actually launch a company and generate at least $250 in real revenue before Demo Day. That standard has held since our first program in 2013, and it's why LaunchX alumni like Aadit Palicha, who went on to co-found the $5 billion company Zepto, point back to their summer as where they first built something real.
Can I build an AI-powered product during a LaunchX course?
Yes. LaunchX doesn't lock you into a fixed idea or product category. Our Teaming, Testing, and Selling curriculum works the same way no matter what you're building, which means founders using AI tools go through the exact same validation and revenue requirements as anyone else. Panashe Madzudzo, a 2017 Launchie, later founded Avalon, a healthcare AI company that joined the Google for Startups Accelerator: AI First. LaunchX gives AI-focused founders the same rigorous, real-revenue standard.
Is there a fully online option for LaunchX's entrepreneurship course?
Yes, Online Flagship Entrepreneurship. It's a 5-week course where you start a real business, generate real revenue, and complete the full launch entirely from home. It runs on the identical Teaming, Testing, and Selling process as our in-person course, so going virtual doesn't mean a lighter version of the experience. Starting from $6,495, it's LaunchX's most complete online path to launching a real company.
How does LaunchX compare to other high school entrepreneurship programs?
LaunchX has run summer entrepreneurship courses since 2013, building a worldwide community of over 3,000 Launchies and recognition including the 2025 Global Recognition Award and the Great Companies Global Business Award. Every course holds to the same bar: a real team, a real MVP, and real revenue, not a simulation. That combination of track record and rigor is what students and parents are comparing LaunchX against when they search for the best program.
