LaunchX and Friends of Bata Announce Winners of AwardX Europe 2026 Startup Competition

‍AwardX by LaunchX, in partnership with Friends of Bata, has officially concluded AwardX Europe, a virtual startup pitch competition designed for high school and university students residing across Europe.

The competition provided student entrepreneurs competing both individually or in teams the opportunity to pitch their early-stage ventures for up to $1,000 in cash funding and LaunchX program scholarships.

Strategic Partnership and Mission

AwardX Europe 26 represents the first European startup competition collaboration between LaunchX and Friends of Bata, with major contributions from Valentina Mueller and the Triple B family.

Friends of Bata supports student entrepreneurship through its "Founders of Tomorrow" events hosted in Barcelona, Lausanne, and Toulouse, as well as online masterclasses and its Pitch Lab podcast. The organization's international network spans over 130,000 students across 20 countries.

AwardX Europe Winners

Following final presentations, the judging panel selected two winners to receive top funding and scholarship awards:

  • Athena Fleurquin (Done AI): Developed on a $20 budget while Fleurquin was still in school, Done AI is a voice-first AI agent designed to execute tasks across applications with user approval required at each step. Done AI has also been accepted into the Web Summit Alpha startup program.
  • Cosmo Clark (EDDIE): EDDIE is an on-demand, one-to-one platform connecting clients directly with personal trainers. The venture has generated a pre-launch waitlist of 47 opted-in testers (comprising 43 clients and 4 trainers). EDDIE represents one of two products Clark has developed under this wellness segment, with the secondary venture named as a finalist for an upcoming MIT competition.

Judging Panel and Evaluation

Submissions were evaluated by a panel of industry executives bringing more than 30 years of combined experience across technology, retail, finance, and corporate strategy:

  • Thomas Archer Bata: Executive Director at Triple B and Founder of MGG, with managerial experience at Nike and Aldo.
  • Jordy Johannes: CIO/CFO at Triple Bata and a seasoned finance professional formerly with KPMG and PwC.
  • Jean-Michel Deligny: Head of the Triple B Investment Committee and a 30-year veteran of the technology investment sector.

The panel evaluated ventures based on market opportunity, execution strategy, adaptability, and clarity of pitch.
